Abstract Submission Guidelines

Conference, themed “Advancing Midwifery-Led Care Models: Redefining Access and Quality in Maternal Health

Abstract Submission

 

Submission Deadline: December 31, 2024

 

Please follow the guidelines outlined below when submitting your abstract to the 3rd SAM Annual International Midwifery Conference 2025.

  • Original submissions are strongly encouraged.
  • All submissions must be in English. English is the official language of the conference, and all presentations must also be in English.
  • Submission titles should be no more than 10 words and clearly indicate the nature of the presentation.
  • Submissions should be no more than 300 words, clear and concise, highlighting relevant aspects, results, and conclusions.
  • Only standard abbreviations may be used within submissions – references are not required in submissions.
  • The abstract title, section headings, and references are not included in the total word count.
  • Abstracts should follow the following format:
    • Background/Purpose: Background or statement of purpose.
    • Methods: Methods, materials, and analytical procedure used.
    • Results: Summary of findings with enough detail to support the conclusion (we do not recommend including “results will be discussed”).  
    • Conclusion: Conclusions reached.
  • Tables, graphs, and photographs are permitted within submissions (maximum 2).

  • Presenting author’s email address: 12pt font, centered.

 

Introduction (or Purpose): This section should include a brief description of the study background or rationale, with the specific aims, questions addressed, and/or hypotheses tested. Lengthy descriptions of rationale are unnecessary and undesirable.

 

Method: The method section should describe the study design and general procedures, including participant characteristics and numbers, and data collection methods. If the study did not involve primary data collection, information should be provided on the methods used to synthesize previously reported data (e.g., narrative or systematic review, meta-analysis).

 

Results: The results section should summarize the findings that directly apply to the stated aims of the abstract. If the project is ongoing and results are not available at the time of submission, please include anticipated results.

 

Conclusions: The conclusions section should specifically address the extent to which the stated aims of the abstract were met, or if the study is ongoing, the potential implications (theoretical and/or clinical) of the findings.

 

Presentation Formats:

Abstracts may be submitted for either oral or poster presentations.

 

Oral Presentations:

Oral Presenters will be required to give an oral presentation at the conference, including a PowerPoint presentation and a question and answer session with the audience.

 

Poster Presentations:

Poster Presenters will be required to present a traditional, physical poster presentation.

 

Abstract Review:

All submitted abstracts will be peer-reviewed (blinded review) by the 3rd International Conference of the Saudi Midwifery Society Scientific Committee.

Incomplete abstracts or abstracts not written in English cannot be processed and will not be reviewed.  

No revisions can be made after the submission deadline – no exceptions.

 

Conditions of Acceptance:

If accepted into the official program, the following conditions apply:

  • Oral presentations can only be given by one author.
  • The presenter must be a listed author on the submission.
  • Accepted presenters must register and attend the conference or the abstract will not be included in the official program.
